Good fathers are in such short supply...

Good fathers are in such short supply and never so much sorely needed as today.  Good fathers learn to be such because they study and learn where, when and how to draw the line between a child’s needs and wants.  Good fathers are always o duty, even when his children have left home.  Good fathers teach their children to pray, love, give, respect and honor through humble example. Good fathers are willing to take the road less traveled to show their children the path of righteousness.  Good fathers bravely make the unpopular decisions and trust in the wisdom of God.  Good fathers have warm places in their children’s hearts. Good fathers are not ever perfect in their own eyes and hearts but are bigger than life heroes in the hearts of their children.  Good fathers introduce God to their children by allowing Him to live in and through them. Good fathers can stand their ground because they’re standing on the Rock! Good fathers won’t and don’t have to brag about their heroic deeds,  their children are glad to do that for them.

Fathers; “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)

Children; “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.” Exodus 20:12 (KJV)

God can and will teach us to both be good fathers and good children.

We need not doubt; God is faithful.

1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2 (NKJV) Testimonials, promoting something beneficial to or for you don't just happen in church. Every TV ad, radio commercial and newspaper ad is aimed at getting your attention and convincing you to make a purchase or subscribe to something new. That is the way of commerce and we accept it as a part of living. Some testimonials you can believe, but remember most are aimed at profiting the one doing the promoting. Christians, the Church are also involved in promoting something they believe will serve to better you; the Gospel of Christ! Through the ages God has pro...

So, You Want to "Get Ahead in Life" ?

My Dad would often explain to me the need for an education so that I would be able to “get ahead” in life.  For many of us “getting ahead” means acquiring money, possession and property.  I have two questions for you is:  When is it enough? And when you have enough, what then?  God’s word says:   “But godliness with contentment is great gain.”  1 Tim 6:6 (KJV)     Imagine this conversation if you would: You:  What happens to what all I’ve gotten and all I have when I die?  God’s Word: “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.”  1 Tim 6:7 (KJV)   You:  So what’s the solution? God’s Word:  “And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.”  1 Tim 6:8 (KJV) You:  Just how am I supposed to do that? Jesus:  “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto y...

Ever wonder how God views our offenses inflicted on others?

Ever wonder how God views our offenses inflicted on others?  You and I may consider and classify offenses as Grave, Serious, Major, Mild, Minor and Insignificant but how does God view them.  We classify them as such even if we’re the offended party but we’ve all seen a “Minor” offense have “Grave” consequences depending on a variety of details. “Minor” offences are like minor scratches and thorn pricks, they can be infected and cause great illness and even loss of life or limb.  Spiritual “wound care” is of vital importance.   Jesus teaches that we’re to avoid all offenses and when we are offended we should bring it to the offender’s attention and seek resolution.  If we offend it is then incumbent that we seek forgiveness.  Offending/Hurting one another; it’s serious business. In God’s eyes it is a sin and one that will not go unnoticed nor unpunished is not dealt with properly. 1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but...
