“That’s just the way I am!” was the way a friend of mine often explained his obnoxious behavior.  “Take it or leave it.” Was his usual closing remark indicating he saw no reason to alter his attitude or actions.  Does this describe your attitude with respect to your relationship to God or lack of one? This attitude, by the way, is rebellion. The Prophet Isaiah has some very timely advice for us with respect to the statement above. 

6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.   Isaiah 55:6-7 (KJV)

So, You Want to "Get Ahead in Life" ?

My Dad would often explain to me the need for an education so that I would be able to “get ahead” in life.  For many of us “getting ahead” means acquiring money, possession and property.  I have two questions for you is:  When is it enough? Ever wonder how God views our offenses inflicted on others?  You and I may consider and classify offenses as Grave, Serious, Major, Mild, Minor and Insignificant but how does God view them.  We classify them as such even if we’re the offended party but we’ve all seen a “Minor” offense have “Grave” consequences depending on a variety of details. “Minor” offences are like minor scratches and thorn pricks, they can be infected and cause great illness and even loss of life or limb.  Spiritual “wound care” is of vital importance.   Jesus teaches that we’re to avoid all offenses and when we are offended we should bring it to the offender’s attention and seek resolution.  If we offend it is then incumbent that we seek forgiveness.  Offending/Hurting one another; it’s serious business.
