Have you ever had conflicting feelings about your choice to seek and follow God when you see the unsaved apparently “living it up” and “living large” while you seem to just eek by and don’t seem to do enough “fun” things? King David was having such a “Pity Party” a Major Pity Party! He actually wondered if maybe he’d made a mistake in surrendering life to God and righteousness. He momentarily considered going back into a life of sin (v. 15) but held back. Then in verse 16 he considers the pain this action would cause. How many would never come to Christ? How many would fall away from the faith? How many lives would be damaged or destroyed because he had faltered. Like David; let’s go into the “sanctuary of God” and understand that the reward of the wicked is still awaiting them. We will reap what we sow. Sow righteousness today, someone important to you is waiting to follow your lead. 12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches. 13 Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence. 14 For all the day long have I been plagued and chastened every morning. God will destroy the wicked and sustain the righteous. 15 If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children. 16 When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; 17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end. Psalms 73:12-17 (KJV)

It naturally begins with a starting points and the identification of a destination. When covering large distances “way points” are established to (1) measure distance traveled and for (2) course correction to ensure one is still on the planned route. Way points are also places where one can restock supplies, rest and refit for the journey. The Hebrews of Isaiah’s time had a “history” with God and here He calls them for a stroll down memory lane. Modern day Believers also have a “history” with ...
