11 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.
12 For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.
13 And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation. Gal 2:11-13 (KJV)
Ever hear of Christians being referred to as “hypocrites”? Ever been called one? Merriam-Webster defines “hypocrisy” as a “feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not; especially: the false assumption of an appearance of virtue or religion.” Often these accusations are leveled at struggling Christians but all too often they are valid comments. Yes, Christians are not perfect, we struggle with sin and faults but we’re a work in progress. True hypocrites however fake or feign their faith and their worldliness. They lie about being Christian and they lie about being in the world. Make up your mind; your either saved or not, in Christ or in the world.
