"For our citizenship is in Heaven"

"For our citizenship is in Heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ" Phil 3:20 (NKJV)

Ever been to a foreign country and observed different and even unique customs? Have you been in the company of a foreigner to your country and noticed how they differ in so many ways. We too seem unique to others! God's People, those saved by grace through faith in Christ often seem odd at times to the unbeliever; and that's good! We are different because our very nature has been changed from that of a sinful rebel who does not acknowledge God to one whose world revolves around our Lord. We're different because while we may be residents we're no longer citizens of this world. Our citizenship is in Heaven where Jesus has built a place to live with Him forever.

We need not doubt; God is faithful.

1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2 (NKJV) Testimonials, promoting something beneficial to or for you don't just happen in church. Every TV ad, radio commercial and newspaper ad is aimed at getting your attention and convincing you to make a purchase or subscribe to something new. That is the way of commerce and we accept it as a part of living. Some testimonials you can believe, but remember most are aimed at profiting the one doing the promoting. Christians, the Church are also involved in promoting something they believe will serve to better you; the Gospel of Christ! Through the ages God has pro...

So, You Want to "Get Ahead in Life" ?

My Dad would often explain to me the need for an education so that I would be able to “get ahead” in life.  For many of us “getting ahead” means acquiring money, possession and property.  I have two questions for you is:  When is it enough? And when you have enough, what then?  God’s word says:   “But godliness with contentment is great gain.”  1 Tim 6:6 (KJV)     Imagine this conversation if you would: You:  What happens to what all I’ve gotten and all I have when I die?  God’s Word: “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.”  1 Tim 6:7 (KJV)   You:  So what’s the solution? God’s Word:  “And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.”  1 Tim 6:8 (KJV) You:  Just how am I supposed to do that? Jesus:  “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto y...

Ever wonder how God views our offenses inflicted on others?

Ever wonder how God views our offenses inflicted on others?  You and I may consider and classify offenses as Grave, Serious, Major, Mild, Minor and Insignificant but how does God view them.  We classify them as such even if we’re the offended party but we’ve all seen a “Minor” offense have “Grave” consequences depending on a variety of details. “Minor” offences are like minor scratches and thorn pricks, they can be infected and cause great illness and even loss of life or limb.  Spiritual “wound care” is of vital importance.   Jesus teaches that we’re to avoid all offenses and when we are offended we should bring it to the offender’s attention and seek resolution.  If we offend it is then incumbent that we seek forgiveness.  Offending/Hurting one another; it’s serious business. In God’s eyes it is a sin and one that will not go unnoticed nor unpunished is not dealt with properly. 1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but...
