"Wearing" a cross is NOT the same thing as "bearing" a cross

"And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha" John 19:17 (NKJV)

In order for Jesus to redeem mankind from the penalty of sin He had to be the sacrificial "Lamb of God", the perfect sinless offering who died in our place. The cross that Jesus bore and upon which He died represented His duty and service to God. Jesus calls on us to also bear our own personal cross.

"And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple." Luke 14:27 (NKJV)

We too, if we're to follow Jesus must bear our own cross of duty and ministry. The "cross" we bear is not a troublesome child, dependent parents, an addiction or bad habit. Your "cross" is the ministry and purpose that our Heavenly Father has entrusted and charged us with carrying out on this earth in His Name, for His Glory and for the salvation of our brothers and neighbors. By the way, "wearing" a cross is NOT the same as "bearing" a cross. One is to render heartfelt service to God and man; the other is just jewelry.

Read your Bible.

It has been said that in the heart of man is a God shaped void which can only be filled by the presence of God. Mankind has a hunger and thirst for the fulfillment only God can bring but sadly we seek to feed the hunger and quench the thirst with worldly things. God knows what we have need of and has written us a guide to discover how to have fullness of joy and peace. Read your Bible. 4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.  1 John 1:4 (NKJV)

Ever wonder how God views our offenses inflicted on others?

Ever wonder how God views our offenses inflicted on others?  You and I may consider and classify offenses as Grave, Serious, Major, Mild, Minor and Insignificant but how does God view them.  We classify them as such even if we’re the offended party but we’ve all seen a “Minor” offense have “Grave” consequences depending on a variety of details. “Minor” offences are like minor scratches and thorn pricks, they can be infected and cause great illness and even loss of life or limb.  Spiritual “wound care” is of vital importance.   Jesus teaches that we’re to avoid all offenses and when we are offended we should bring it to the offender’s attention and seek resolution.  If we offend it is then incumbent that we seek forgiveness.  Offending/Hurting one another; it’s serious business. In God’s eyes it is a sin and one that will not go unnoticed nor unpunished is not dealt with properly. 1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but...

Are you “on schedule” with God or are you running late? If not; today is a good time to start catching up!

1 Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged. 2 Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.   Isaiah 51:1-2 (KJV) The art or process of mapping a journey overland, sea, air or space requires the use of fixed or known reference points along the route.   It naturally begins with a starting points and the identification of a destination.   When covering large distances “way points” are established to (1) measure distance traveled and for (2) course correction to ensure one is still on the planned route.   Way points are also places where one can restock supplies, rest and refit for the journey.   The Hebrews of Isaiah’s time had a “history” with God and here He calls them for a stroll down memory lane.   Modern day Believers also have a “history” with ...
