This month America pauses to celebrate its declaration of independence.......

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage." Galatians 5:1 (NKJV)

This month America pauses to celebrate its declaration of independence from oppression by a foreign power. We take great pride and we should yet what we cannot and must not do is forget that the quest for freedom and liberty was started by God's influence in the hearts of our forefathers. It was that sense of spiritual freedom that drove early patriots to demand and even die to set our nation free. May I humbly remind you that it was God's love in the person of Jesus Christ whose sacrifice on the cross won our salvation and freedom from the tyranny of sin?
Paul's advice to sustain our spiritual freedom by avoiding sin should also be applied to our political freedom. Today, now, more than ever we as Americans and Christians need to influence our nation that it not entangle itself a self-imposed oppression and bondage. As in our spiritual lives; the real enemy is within.

We need not doubt; God is faithful.

1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2 (NKJV) Testimonials, promoting something beneficial to or for you don't just happen in church. Every TV ad, radio commercial and newspaper ad is aimed at getting your attention and convincing you to make a purchase or subscribe to something new. That is the way of commerce and we accept it as a part of living. Some testimonials you can believe, but remember most are aimed at profiting the one doing the promoting. Christians, the Church are also involved in promoting something they believe will serve to better you; the Gospel of Christ! Through the ages God has pro...

So, You Want to "Get Ahead in Life" ?

My Dad would often explain to me the need for an education so that I would be able to “get ahead” in life.  For many of us “getting ahead” means acquiring money, possession and property.  I have two questions for you is:  When is it enough? And when you have enough, what then?  God’s word says:   “But godliness with contentment is great gain.”  1 Tim 6:6 (KJV)     Imagine this conversation if you would: You:  What happens to what all I’ve gotten and all I have when I die?  God’s Word: “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.”  1 Tim 6:7 (KJV)   You:  So what’s the solution? God’s Word:  “And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.”  1 Tim 6:8 (KJV) You:  Just how am I supposed to do that? Jesus:  “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto y...

Ever wonder how God views our offenses inflicted on others?

Ever wonder how God views our offenses inflicted on others?  You and I may consider and classify offenses as Grave, Serious, Major, Mild, Minor and Insignificant but how does God view them.  We classify them as such even if we’re the offended party but we’ve all seen a “Minor” offense have “Grave” consequences depending on a variety of details. “Minor” offences are like minor scratches and thorn pricks, they can be infected and cause great illness and even loss of life or limb.  Spiritual “wound care” is of vital importance.   Jesus teaches that we’re to avoid all offenses and when we are offended we should bring it to the offender’s attention and seek resolution.  If we offend it is then incumbent that we seek forgiveness.  Offending/Hurting one another; it’s serious business. In God’s eyes it is a sin and one that will not go unnoticed nor unpunished is not dealt with properly. 1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but...
