Are you “on schedule” with God or are you running late? If not; today is a good time to start catching up!

1 Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged. 2 Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.   Isaiah 51:1-2 (KJV) The art or process of mapping a journey overland, sea, air or space requires the use of fixed or known reference points along the route.   It naturally begins with a starting points and the identification of a destination.   When covering large distances “way points” are established to (1) measure distance traveled and for (2) course correction to ensure one is still on the planned route.   Way points are also places where one can restock supplies, rest and refit for the journey.   The Hebrews of Isaiah’s time had a “history” with God and here He calls them for a stroll down memory lane.   Modern day Believers also have a “history” with ...

How much have you progressed in your journey with God?

Ever wonder how God views our offenses inflicted on others?

Ever wonder how God views our offenses inflicted on others?  You and I may consider and classify offenses as Grave, Serious, Major, Mild, Minor and Insignificant but how does God view them.  We classify them as such even if we’re the offended party but we’ve all seen a “Minor” offense have “Grave” consequences depending on a variety of details. “Minor” offences are like minor scratches and thorn pricks, they can be infected and cause great illness and even loss of life or limb.  Spiritual “wound care” is of vital importance.   Jesus teaches that we’re to avoid all offenses and when we are offended we should bring it to the offender’s attention and seek resolution.  If we offend it is then incumbent that we seek forgiveness.  Offending/Hurting one another; it’s serious business. In God’s eyes it is a sin and one that will not go unnoticed nor unpunished is not dealt with properly. 1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but...

Ever been accused of and perhaps condemned for radical thinking?

Ever been accused of and perhaps condemned for radical thinking?   Jesus was and even today there are those who privately or vehemently oppose His views on how we’re to treat each other.   It is just simply not in our nature it seems to do kindness without expecting some kind of recompense in kind.   It’s a learned behavior and while not solely the property of any one person, nation or religion it does proceed from the nature of God.   Read and listen to the words of Jesus as he share His wisdom:   “27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, 28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. 29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. 30   Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. 31 And as ye would that men sh...

Be still, and know that I am God. Psalms 46:10a

As a mother and housewife went about her daily routine suddenly electrical power went out.   Her teenage daughter’s stereo went silent, the TV her husband was watching followed suit and the twins that had been running and screaming were nowhere to be found.   What happened she asked? Indeed she couldn’t even find her family.   After looking and calling for them suddenly power returned; the stereo blared, the TV came back to life and the twins were back to rampaging.   It was then she realized she’d just gotten what she’d been crying out for from her family; five minutes of peace and quiet!   The best way to receive and enjoy “peace and quiet” is to impose it on ourselves and while you’re at it take time to listen to God.   “Be still, and know that I am God”   Psalms 46:10a (KJV)

This coming year let’s all make Almighty God a solemn vow to seek first His Kingdom and rely solely on His providence.

We are a people most blessed and often do not, cannot or will not see this reality.   While much of the world struggles to feed itself many of us struggle with extra body weight.   At a time when many live in poverty we own fine air-conditioned homes, two plus automobiles, multiple TV’s and stereo systems.   I personally don’t make New Year’s Resolutions but I’m not against them, they just don’t seem to be something I’m good at past mid-January.    Let me make a suggestion. This coming year let’s all make Almighty God a solemn vow to seek first His Kingdom and rely solely on His providence.   This will involve taking inventory of what we have and expressing sincere gratitude to Him.   Why?   Because we really don’t own anything in this world.   Our souls are His, our time is His, our health is His, our property is His and yes, even our money is His.   What I’m suggesting is that we, with God’s help, put all things in perspective and...

The Apostle Paul wrote “the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the East to Jerusalem,  2 Saying, Where is he that is born king of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the East, and are come to worship him.  Matt 2:1-2 (KJV) The appearance of the Wise Men from the East was a cause of great concern in Jerusalem that year.  It was, no doubt, an impressive caravan that entered the city and to date, no one really knows just how many they were.  Traveling such a great distance in a wilderness required a large contingency of men, livestock and supplies.  Then, to hear the reason for their trek, simply amazed everyone!  King Herod himself called them to his presence to inquire why they sought “he that is Born King of the Jews?” The Lord Jesus was not crowned king by popular acclaim, He did not usurp the throne through guile or violence, He was BORN King.  The only begotten ...
