Jesus' earthly ministry is about to culminate in His death.

And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left. Luke 23:33 (NKJV)

Jesus' earthly ministry is about to culminate in His death. He's been beaten, ridiculed, humiliated and now is nailed to a cross to die. At this point I don't believe anyone would criticize Him for berating and cursing His tormentors yet this would be out of character for the Son of Man.

Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." And they divided His garments and cast lots. Luke 23:34 (NKJV)

The Pharisees, Sadducees, Priests, mob and Roman soldiers did not, could not realize the impact of the acts that day. Despite their cruelty Jesus, God's Son, refuses to condemn them. Instead, He prays to the Father that this sin, the killing of an innocent man, the Lamb of God, not be held against them. What love is this? It is the "Agape" love, the love only God can give and it is ours.

Choose today to stay informed of God’s Will for your Life

8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.  Luke 21:8 (KJV) Four times in the New Testament we find the phrase “Be not deceived” each a warning to guard against a serious danger that can derail your life and render your testimony inert.   I Cor. 6:9 warns us to guard against false salvation doctrine.  I Cor. 15:33 warns us to guard against listening to and using evil language that ultimately spoils our image as Christians.     Gal. 6:7 warns us to stay true to God as we cannot truly serve Him and the world.   Our greatest danger is not from external physical or political attacks but from personal lackadaisical attitudes which attacks our morality and spirituality.  We hold the key to a wholesome relationship with God; we can refuse to be deceived.     Choose today to stay informed of God’s ...

We need not doubt; God is faithful.

1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2 (NKJV) Testimonials, promoting something beneficial to or for you don't just happen in church. Every TV ad, radio commercial and newspaper ad is aimed at getting your attention and convincing you to make a purchase or subscribe to something new. That is the way of commerce and we accept it as a part of living. Some testimonials you can believe, but remember most are aimed at profiting the one doing the promoting. Christians, the Church are also involved in promoting something they believe will serve to better you; the Gospel of Christ! Through the ages God has pro...

Spiritual gifts and wisdom are not accidents nor are they only for an elite few believers

1 My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, 2 So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; 3 Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, 4 If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; 5 Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, And find knowledge of God. Proverbs 2:1-5 (NKJV) Spiritual gifts and wisdom are not accidents nor are they only for an elite few believers. Wisdom, deep and profound wisdom is, to be sure, one of the spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit. God endows a select few with supernaturally deep and profound wisdom that it may be shared and used for the edification of the church. While this true it is also true that wisdom can be attained through diligent study. Wisdom, counsels Solomon, should be sought after with the same diligence that we pursue our livelihood and the most valuable things in life. The benefit? One will come to understan...
