1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. Psalms 23:1 (KJV)

Believe it or not; this perhaps the most powerful statement of faith a Christian can make regarding his faith.  Believers place themselves wholly in the shepherd’s hands and give up their personal likes/dislikes, to obediently follow wherever he may lead them.  It’s about well-founded trust and confidence in his wisdom, protection, knowledge and instruction.  Christians call this faith.  Our faith is based on God’s ability to deliver on his promises.  He is faithful and because of this we shall want for nothing.  I am reminded of a little girl who wonderfully misquoted this verse by saying “The Lord is my Shepherd; that’s all I want.”  


All or our spiritual, emotional and physical needs will be met by God through His Son Jesus and we will lack for nothing.  We have His promise in writing.

My Dad would often explain to me the need for an education so that I would be able to “get ahead” in life.  For many of us “getting ahead” means acquiring money, possession and property.  I have two questions for you is:  When is it enough? Ever wonder how God views our offenses inflicted on others?  You and I may consider and classify offenses as Grave, Serious, Major, Mild, Minor and Insignificant but how does God view them.  We classify them as such even if we’re the offended party but we’ve all seen a “Minor” offense have “Grave” consequences depending on a variety of details. “Minor” offences are like minor scratches and thorn pricks, they can be infected and cause great illness and even loss of life or limb.  Spiritual “wound care” is of vital importance.   Jesus teaches that we’re to avoid all offenses and when we are offended we should bring it to the offender’s attention and seek resolution.  If we offend it is then incumbent that we seek forgiveness.  Offending/Hurting one another; it’s serious business.
