In this world He [the Lord] promises and delivers sufficiency and grace to overcome.



6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.   1 Tim 6:6-8 (KJV)

Contentment is a wonderful and effective barrier against temptation.  We can be no poorer than when we came into this world and we will exit with the same possessions; nothing.  God’s grace enables us to appreciate and utilize all we have without envy and covetousness.  Contentment nullifies greed, immorality and dishonesty.  The richness God promises His children is not in this life.  In this world He promises and delivers sufficiency and grace to overcome.

So, You Want to "Get Ahead in Life" ?

My Dad would often explain to me the need for an education so that I would be able to “get ahead” in life.  For many of us “getting ahead” means acquiring money, possession and property.  I have two questions for you is:  When is it enough? Ever wonder how God views our offenses inflicted on others?  You and I may consider and classify offenses as Grave, Serious, Major, Mild, Minor and Insignificant but how does God view them.  We classify them as such even if we’re the offended party but we’ve all seen a “Minor” offense have “Grave” consequences depending on a variety of details. “Minor” offences are like minor scratches and thorn pricks, they can be infected and cause great illness and even loss of life or limb.  Spiritual “wound care” is of vital importance.   Jesus teaches that we’re to avoid all offenses and when we are offended we should bring it to the offender’s attention and seek resolution.  If we offend it is then incumbent that we seek forgiveness.  Offending/Hurting one another; it’s serious business.
