Like Your Own Body the Church is a Living Organism

Like your own body the Church is a living organism.  It is comprised of many members working together to support and promote growth and life.  Like our own bodies, if the church is not nourished, it weakens. If it is cultivated, it languishes. If it is not watered, it wilts. If it is not educated and trained, it fails.  If it has no vision, it dies.  Care for your physical body and then tend and care for the body of believers that is Primera Iglesia Bautista. 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.   13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.   14  the body is not one member, but many.  1 Cor. 12:12-14 (KJV)

A Family of Believers United to Serve God

11 And he gave some apostles; and some prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastors and teachers;  12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:  13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:  Eph. 4:11-13 (KJV) You and I, my brother and sister, are members of the redeemed Church of Jesus Christ!  We’re also members of Primera Iglesia Bautista, a family of believers united to serve God by sharing the Gospel of Salvation, discipline new believers and equipping the saints.  We each have specific tasks to perform strategically that we may make a significant difference in our world through Christ.  Let’s work together at keeping the unity of the Spirit in Faith.     “Churchgoers are like coals in a fire. When they cling together, they keep the ...

Coming to Jesus Brings Forgiveness of Sin

Coming to Jesus brings forgiveness of sin, the indwelling by the Holy Spirit and Eternal life.  The redeemed of God have literally nothing to fear except not being faithful. We need not hide or shrink from the world or our purpose and calling.  God is on our side. Following the advice in these verses will simplify the process.  Take heed, take heart, take courage, take consolation, take faith, take aim and now, take action. You’re not alone!  1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.   2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.   3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.   4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.   Col 3:1-4 (KJV)

So, You Want to "Get Ahead in Life" ?

My Dad would often explain to me the need for an education so that I would be able to “get ahead” in life.  For many of us “getting ahead” means acquiring money, possession and property.  I have two questions for you is:  When is it enough? And when you have enough, what then?  God’s word says:   “But godliness with contentment is great gain.”  1 Tim 6:6 (KJV)     Imagine this conversation if you would: You:  What happens to what all I’ve gotten and all I have when I die?  God’s Word: “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.”  1 Tim 6:7 (KJV)   You:  So what’s the solution? God’s Word:  “And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.”  1 Tim 6:8 (KJV) You:  Just how am I supposed to do that? Jesus:  “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto y...
Have you searching for and wanting to walk the path of righteousness and would do so if you could only find the path?  You’re not alone, it just seems like you are.  If you want to walk with Jesus you’ll need to get down to the bare essentials of faith.  The formula is not hidden we just simply either overlook it or perhaps we ignore it because of its simplicity.  If you want to walk with Jesus then take note of the following verses.  And yes, it can be just that simply.  Not easy mind you, just that simple.  Let’s start walking with Jesus today.  33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.   Matt 6:33-34 (KJV)
The medical term “myopia” is better known to us as “nearsightedness”.  Those afflicted can only see things that are close; thus, they have an inability to see things off at a distance.  The sad result is that this hinders their ability to see things in their proper perspective.   We Christians are often afflicted by “Spiritual Nearsightedness” which also hinders our ability to see things in their God-ordained perspective.  Sadly, this is self-imposed and limits our growth and development.  Happily, God can heal us of this if we will repent, seek His forgiveness, identify God’s purpose and goals for us.  Then we can proceed as Paul teaches; “press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”  Phil 3:14 (KJV)
