So, You Want to "Get Ahead in Life" ?

My Dad would often explain to me the need for an education so that I would be able to “get ahead” in life.  For many of us “getting ahead” means acquiring money, possession and property.  I have two questions for you is:  When is it enough? And when you have enough, what then?  God’s word says:   “But godliness with contentment is great gain.”  1 Tim 6:6 (KJV)     Imagine this conversation if you would: You:  What happens to what all I’ve gotten and all I have when I die?  God’s Word: “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.”  1 Tim 6:7 (KJV)   You:  So what’s the solution? God’s Word:  “And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.”  1 Tim 6:8 (KJV) You:  Just how am I supposed to do that? Jesus:  “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”  Matt 6:33 (KJV) You:  If I do this what will I get as a reward? God’s Word:  “Blessed
Have you searching for and wanting to walk the path of righteousness and would do so if you could only find the path?  You’re not alone, it just seems like you are.  If you want to walk with Jesus you’ll need to get down to the bare essentials of faith.  The formula is not hidden we just simply either overlook it or perhaps we ignore it because of its simplicity.  If you want to walk with Jesus then take note of the following verses.  And yes, it can be just that simply.  Not easy mind you, just that simple.  Let’s start walking with Jesus today.  33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.   Matt 6:33-34 (KJV)
The medical term “myopia” is better known to us as “nearsightedness”.  Those afflicted can only see things that are close; thus, they have an inability to see things off at a distance.  The sad result is that this hinders their ability to see things in their proper perspective.   We Christians are often afflicted by “Spiritual Nearsightedness” which also hinders our ability to see things in their God-ordained perspective.  Sadly, this is self-imposed and limits our growth and development.  Happily, God can heal us of this if we will repent, seek His forgiveness, identify God’s purpose and goals for us.  Then we can proceed as Paul teaches; “press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”  Phil 3:14 (KJV)
