We've started a new year!

We've started a new year! For some reason it causes us to stop, reflect and often resolve to do things less, more, earlier, later and better. It's a new start a new opportunity but things don't often change dramatically. God has a way for mankind to really start things anew. Responding to Jesus Christ's call to repentance and salvation is the only surefire way this pastor know to have a "new beginning" and one with a glorious future as well. This year, consider making Jesus your Lord and Master. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)

When faced with honest and sincere correction; what is your response?

"Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you." Prov 9:8 (NKJV) To have a healthy self-esteem is to have a sincere and honest appraisal of oneself. The truly wise person accepts timely, sincere and honest correction then applies the lesson learned which in turn makes him/her wiser. Not so the scoffer who rejects and laughs off correction causing the depth of his ignorance to deepen. When faced with honest and sincere correction; what is your response?

"Where is He who has been born King of the Jews

"1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the King, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." Matt 2:1-2 (NKJV) Some men are made kings by their peers, other make themselves kings by force, some inherit their kingdoms and some may even buy their realms. Jesus, the Son of God was born King! The Magi recognized His lordship and proclaimed the birth of mankind's savior. Wise men came from afar to worship Him as Lord and Savior; the wise today still do. The little baby born in a stable I Bethlehem grew to be the man who died on Calvary's cross for your sins. Will you let Him become your Lord today?

It is important that we not only "Believe in God" but that we "Believe God" when He challenges us.

" Be still, and know that I am God" Psalms 46:10a (NKJV) Ever find yourself in a deep depression, angst, worry and fear at things that are beyond your ability to affect or change? We have a natural need to be in control because it gives us security; a sense of well-being. When we're not in control we tend to lose hope. God has a better plan; sit,be still and observe what God can do when we give it up to Him. It is important that we not only "believe in God" but that we "believe God" when He challenges us, when trouble assail us when finally concede that without Him we are not only hopeless but helpless.

Brethren; we are indeed responsible before God for our brothers and sisters spiritual and physical health...

Then the Lord said to Cain, "Where is Abel your brother?" He said, "I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?"   Gen 4:9 (NKJV)   The answer to Cain’s question is Yes!   God does hold us responsible for the fate of our fellowman.   This is the purpose of Jesus coming to save us, for His giving us the Great Commission and the Outreach Ministry here at Primera.   Brethren; we are indeed responsible before God for our brothers and sisters spiritual and physical health.   Let’s be available to eachother; for Jesus’ sake. 19 Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.   James 5:19-20 (NKJV)

Let us listen and be blessed.

1 "Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, You who seek the Lord: Look to the rock from which you were hewn, And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug. 2 Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who bore you; For I called him alone, And blessed him and increased him."   Isaiah 51:1-2 (NKJV) It is a good practice; especially for believers, to pause from time to time and contemplate just how far we’ve come on the narrow path of righteousness we chose when we came to Christ.   Gauging our progress with respect to God’s purpose for our lives is important so that we stay on course, on schedule and on target.   Our faithfulness will be rewarded by God just as He’s done with believers before us as mentioned in verse 2.   Let us listen and be blessed. Our world is in constant change and so is everyone and everything on it...

Our world is in constant change and so is everyone and everything on it.   While this is not necessarily bad it means change is the only constant.   We can attempt to prepare for change yet inevitably we’ll need Plans B, C & etc... in the event Plan A fails.   It’s comforting when we know that somethings will not change soon or that the change will be gradual; it gives us some sort of security.   One thing we can be assured will not change is God.   He is the one constant we can depend on for salvation, security (temporal and eternal) and all the other things we need.   His love for us is unchanging and His mercy is unending and sure. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”   Heb. 13:8 (NKJV) Worship with us this Sunday at 1509 Tarlton in Corpus Christi, TX 78415 Sun. If we don’t accept that we’re spiritually ill we will never seek the Great Physician, Jesus.

Is your spirit in good health?   One’s physical health is often the subject of conversation but rarely are we asked the question above.   “It’s a personal matter.” Really?   I know, “It’s between you and God” but like a few extra pounds, it shows!   Recognizing we’re ill is the all-important step to seeking and receiving medical treatment.   To do that we compare how we’ve felt in the past to how we feel in the present. The past is our “standard” for comparison.   Believers have God’s Word, the Bible for a standard and with it we can assess our spiritual health and determine if we’re in excellent, good, poor or bad health.   If we don’t accept that we’re spiritually ill we will never seek the Great Physician, Jesus. “They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Mark 2:17 (KJV) We’re located at 1509 Tarlton Corpus Christi, TX 78415 Join us in worship this Sunday S
