We've started a new year!

We've started a new year! For some reason it causes us to stop, reflect and often resolve to do things less, more, earlier, later and better. It's a new start a new opportunity but things don't often change dramatically. God has a way for mankind to really start things anew. Responding to Jesus Christ's call to repentance and salvation is the only surefire way this pastor know to have a "new beginning" and one with a glorious future as well. This year, consider making Jesus your Lord and Master. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)

When faced with honest and sincere correction; what is your response?

"Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you." Prov 9:8 (NKJV) To have a healthy self-esteem is to have a sincere and honest appraisal of oneself. The truly wise person accepts timely, sincere and honest correction then applies the lesson learned which in turn makes him/her wiser. Not so the scoffer who rejects and laughs off correction causing the depth of his ignorance to deepen. When faced with honest and sincere correction; what is your response?

"Where is He who has been born King of the Jews

"1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the King, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." Matt 2:1-2 (NKJV) Some men are made kings by their peers, other make themselves kings by force, some inherit their kingdoms and some may even buy their realms. Jesus, the Son of God was born King! The Magi recognized His lordship and proclaimed the birth of mankind's savior. Wise men came from afar to worship Him as Lord and Savior; the wise today still do. The little baby born in a stable I Bethlehem grew to be the man who died on Calvary's cross for your sins. Will you let Him become your Lord today?

It is important that we not only "Believe in God" but that we "Believe God" when He challenges us.

" Be still, and know that I am God" Psalms 46:10a (NKJV) Ever find yourself in a deep depression, angst, worry and fear at things that are beyond your ability to affect or change? We have a natural need to be in control because it gives us security; a sense of well-being. When we're not in control we tend to lose hope. God has a better plan; sit,be still and observe what God can do when we give it up to Him. It is important that we not only "believe in God" but that we "believe God" when He challenges us, when trouble assail us when finally concede that without Him we are not only hopeless but helpless.
