"Wearing" a cross is NOT the same thing as "bearing" a cross

"And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha" John 19:17 (NKJV) In order for Jesus to redeem mankind from the penalty of sin He had to be the sacrificial "Lamb of God", the perfect sinless offering who died in our place. The cross that Jesus bore and upon which He died represented His duty and service to God. Jesus calls on us to also bear our own personal cross. "And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple." Luke 14:27 (NKJV) We too, if we're to follow Jesus must bear our own cross of duty and ministry. The "cross" we bear is not a troublesome child, dependent parents, an addiction or bad habit. Your "cross" is the ministry and purpose that our Heavenly Father has entrusted and charged us with carrying out on this earth in His Name, for His Glory and for the salvation of our brothers and neighbors. Having heard Paul's defense of the Gospel King Agrippa responds as we've heard other so many times before "Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian." Acts 26:28 Our response and conviction should mirror Paul's "I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds." Acts 26:29 We are free in Christ! The unbeliever is lost in sin. Do you share Paul's concern for the lost? Share Jesus today or this week with someone.

Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace

How often are we faced with opportunities to witness to others to evangelize and we just can't so we don't? How often do we remain silent when we should speak to controversial situations regarding our core beliefs and just can't get the words out? It happens to all of us and all too often but God know this and has a message of consolation just like He did for the Apostle Paul so long ago. 9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: 10 For I am thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in the city. 11 And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.  Acts 18:9-11 (KJV)

Will you come to Jesus today? You know the way.

Jesus has just healed a blind man, one born blind and the people are astonished! Hear the conversation: "Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened? He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight. John 9:10-11 (KJV) Simple, even simplistic but simply true. So is getting saved; listen: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shall be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:31 (KJV) Will you come to Jesus today? You know the way.
