If we don’t accept that we’re spiritually ill we will never seek the Great Physician, Jesus.

Is your spirit in good health?  One’s physical health is often the subject of conversation but rarely are we asked the question above.  “It’s a personal matter.” Really?  I know, “It’s between you and God” but like a few extra pounds, it shows!  Recognizing we’re ill is the all-important step to seeking and receiving medical treatment.  To do that we compare how we’ve felt in the past to how we feel in the present. The past is our “standard” for comparison.  Believers have God’s Word, the Bible for a standard and with it we can assess our spiritual health and determine if we’re in excellent, good, poor or bad health.  If we don’t accept that we’re spiritually ill we will never seek the Great Physician, Jesus.

“They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Mark 2:17 (KJV)

Read your Bible.

It has been said that in the heart of man is a God shaped void which can only be filled by the presence of God. Mankind has a hunger and thirst for the fulfillment only God can bring but sadly we seek to feed the hunger and quench the thirst with worldly things. God knows what we have need of and has written us a guide to discover how to have fullness of joy and peace. Read your Bible. 4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.  1 John 1:4 (NKJV)

Are you “on schedule” with God or are you running late? If not; today is a good time to start catching up!

1 Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged. 2 Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.   Isaiah 51:1-2 (KJV) The art or process of mapping a journey overland, sea, air or space requires the use of fixed or known reference points along the route.   It naturally begins with a starting points and the identification of a destination.   When covering large distances “way points” are established to (1) measure distance traveled and for (2) course correction to ensure one is still on the planned route.   Way points are also places where one can restock supplies, rest and refit for the journey.   The Hebrews of Isaiah’s time had a “history” with God and here He calls them for a stroll down memory lane.   Modern day Believers also have a “history” with ...
