The Apostle Paul wrote “the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the East to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is he that is born king of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the East, and are come to worship him.  Matt 2:1-2 (KJV)

The appearance of the Wise Men from the East was a cause of great concern in Jerusalem that year.  It was, no doubt, an impressive caravan that entered the city and to date, no one really knows just how many they were.  Traveling such a great distance in a wilderness required a large contingency of men, livestock and supplies.  Then, to hear the reason for their trek, simply amazed everyone!  King Herod himself called them to his presence to inquire why they sought “he that is Born King of the Jews?”

The Lord Jesus was not crowned king by popular acclaim, He did not usurp the throne through guile or violence, He was BORN King.  The only begotten Son of  God was born to be the Lamb of God who would take the sins of the world.  He was born to provide a pathway to the presence of God.  Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of God is Lord of all!

They found Him and presented Him with gifts fit for a king indeed.  That little child, born in Bethlehem would one day die, suspended between heaven and earth on a cross, for our sins.  He is God’s gift to us.

Years later the Apostle Paul wrote “the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”  Romans 6:23 (KJV) If you've not availed yourself the opportunity to receive God’s gift it would be wisdom to do so.  This is the true meaning of Christmas.  Wise men STILL seek Him!

Read your Bible.

It has been said that in the heart of man is a God shaped void which can only be filled by the presence of God. Mankind has a hunger and thirst for the fulfillment only God can bring but sadly we seek to feed the hunger and quench the thirst with worldly things. God knows what we have need of and has written us a guide to discover how to have fullness of joy and peace. Read your Bible. 4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.  1 John 1:4 (NKJV)

Are you “on schedule” with God or are you running late? If not; today is a good time to start catching up!

1 Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged. 2 Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.   Isaiah 51:1-2 (KJV) The art or process of mapping a journey overland, sea, air or space requires the use of fixed or known reference points along the route.   It naturally begins with a starting points and the identification of a destination.   When covering large distances “way points” are established to (1) measure distance traveled and for (2) course correction to ensure one is still on the planned route.   Way points are also places where one can restock supplies, rest and refit for the journey.   The Hebrews of Isaiah’s time had a “history” with God and here He calls them for a stroll down memory lane.   Modern day Believers also have a “history” with ...
