This coming year let’s all make Almighty God a solemn vow to seek first His Kingdom and rely solely on His providence.

We are a people most blessed and often do not, cannot or will not see this reality.  While much of the world struggles to feed itself many of us struggle with extra body weight.  At a time when many live in poverty we own fine air-conditioned homes, two plus automobiles, multiple TV’s and stereo systems.  I personally don’t make New Year’s Resolutions but I’m not against them, they just don’t seem to be something I’m good at past mid-January.   Let me make a suggestion. This coming year let’s all make Almighty God a solemn vow to seek first His Kingdom and rely solely on His providence.  This will involve taking inventory of what we have and expressing sincere gratitude to Him.  Why?  Because we really don’t own anything in this world.  Our souls are His, our time is His, our health is His, our property is His and yes, even our money is His.  What I’m suggesting is that we, with God’s help, put all things in perspective and prioritize our lives.  This year, let’s all seek God’s perfect will for us.  I do and must caution you, this is a vow, a solemn promise to God which must be kept.   The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts. Haggai 2:8

Read your Bible.

It has been said that in the heart of man is a God shaped void which can only be filled by the presence of God. Mankind has a hunger and thirst for the fulfillment only God can bring but sadly we seek to feed the hunger and quench the thirst with worldly things. God knows what we have need of and has written us a guide to discover how to have fullness of joy and peace. Read your Bible. 4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.  1 John 1:4 (NKJV)

Ever wonder how God views our offenses inflicted on others?

Ever wonder how God views our offenses inflicted on others?  You and I may consider and classify offenses as Grave, Serious, Major, Mild, Minor and Insignificant but how does God view them.  We classify them as such even if we’re the offended party but we’ve all seen a “Minor” offense have “Grave” consequences depending on a variety of details. “Minor” offences are like minor scratches and thorn pricks, they can be infected and cause great illness and even loss of life or limb.  Spiritual “wound care” is of vital importance.   Jesus teaches that we’re to avoid all offenses and when we are offended we should bring it to the offender’s attention and seek resolution.  If we offend it is then incumbent that we seek forgiveness.  Offending/Hurting one another; it’s serious business. In God’s eyes it is a sin and one that will not go unnoticed nor unpunished is not dealt with properly. 1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but...

Are you “on schedule” with God or are you running late? If not; today is a good time to start catching up!

1 Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged. 2 Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.   Isaiah 51:1-2 (KJV) The art or process of mapping a journey overland, sea, air or space requires the use of fixed or known reference points along the route.   It naturally begins with a starting points and the identification of a destination.   When covering large distances “way points” are established to (1) measure distance traveled and for (2) course correction to ensure one is still on the planned route.   Way points are also places where one can restock supplies, rest and refit for the journey.   The Hebrews of Isaiah’s time had a “history” with God and here He calls them for a stroll down memory lane.   Modern day Believers also have a “history” with ...
